



"Dune Buggy", the Magic Clown's
Peanut Circus, alias Col. Jim Russell, has been presenting Peanut
Circus shows at schools, company picnics, conventions, banquets,
fairs, and festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada.
"Dune Buggy" is the Ambassador
of Georgia Peanuts and a consumer spokesperson for the Georgia
Peanut Commission and the Peanut Advisory Board. He acts in the
capacity of promoting peanuts, peanut products, peanut nutrition
and "The Peanut Circus" membership fan club.
"Dune Buggy" performs over
500 shows annually and entertains 500,000 or more children per
year. The majority of the shows are school assemblies, fairs, and festivals.
Shows include magic, comedy, music, balloon sculpturing, audience participation,
clowning and peanuts. He is an accomplished stage entertainer,
balloon sculpturist and master children entertainer. One-on-one
with children is where "Dune Buggy" is at his best.
He is America's most accessible clown to children, to meet and
greet, talk to, shake hands, pull a ponytail or just cut up with
the kids. Children love "Dune Buggy's" hilarious antics
and comedy laced with a lot of love for the little ones.
"Dune Buggy" is an author
of articles on clowning, magic, balloon sculpturing and children's
entertainment. Articles have appeared regularly in 3 Ring News,
Clowning Around, TOPS, Clown Alley and Calliope
magazines. He conducts over 30 lectures a year on clowning, make-up,
magic entertaining children and balloon sculpturing at various
fraternal, civic, church groups and conventions through the U.S.
and Canada. "Dune Buggy" was rated #7 in 1982 and #5
in 1983 nationally by Clown Chatter magazine before it
ceased publication. "Dune Buggy" was the Dean of International
School of Clown Performing Arts, 1989-90. He was also an instructor
and director of the school. He is the current Dean of his own
Clown School (1991-1997) at Samford University and Georgia Southern
University (1992-98); and Milledgeville Georgia July 1995-97.

He also attended Advanced Clown Studies in 1995. In April, 2000, "Dune Buggy" became the editor / publisher of World Clown Association's "Clowning Around" Magazine, which is published eight times per year.
"Dune Buggy" has been a clown
for over 46 years. Clowning as a hobby became a full-time occupation
in 1978. He is a past president, International Shrine Clown Association
1973-1974; a Regional Director of World Clown Association; Ambassador
of Clowns, WCA 1985-89; Past Regional Vice President, Clowns of
America and COAI; member of International Brotherhood of Magicians,
Society of America Magicians and Fellowship of Christian Magicians.
He is also a 1998 and 2008 inductee Order of Merlin, International Brotherhood
of Magicians. He is 2003-2004 Clown Of The Year, World Clown Association.
Col. Russell is a native of Nashville,
Tennessee and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University,
BS in Agriculture, graduate Infantry Officers Basic Course, Ordnance
Officers Career Course and Command and General Staff College and
a retired Lt. Col. U.S. Army Reserve. He is also a Kentucky, Georgia
and Alabama Colonel. He retired from Veterinary Drug Salesman at
Elanco Products Co., Division Eli Lilly & Company.

National Clown Week is celebrated August 1st - 7th annually . "Dune Buggy" was responsible in August 1969 for then-Governor Jimmy Carter signing the Georgia State Proclamation for Clown Week.
